IPP Security Consultants Assist with Biometric Upgrade

Security Consultants from IPP Consulting have been assisting as external advisors for a biometric system upgrade affecting multiple correctional facilities in New South Wales.

One of the greatest security challenges at a correctional facility is the correct identification of all persons entering & leaving the premises, and with over 10,000 inmates & 400,000 visitors annually in New South Wales this is quite a challenging task.

To overcome these hurdles NSW Corrective Services, with the assistance of IPP Consulting, has rolled out the upgraded biometric systems at 14 of 34 correctional centres with upgraded IT hardware & software.  The linkage of existing systems with new biometric technology is set to occur in early 2010.
