Investigations

A major insurance provider engaged our investigations team to conduct a comprehensive surveillance and factual investigation into a claimant residing in regional New South Wales.

The objective was to assess the legitimacy of a long-term disability claim and provide insights into the claimant’s current lifestyle, physical capacity, and potential for return to work.

Involvement

The investigation was structured in two phases: a surveillance component to observe the claimant’s day-to-day activities, and a factual component involving direct interviews and environmental assessment. This dual approach allowed for a comprehensive understanding of the claimant’s functional capacity and living conditions.

Outcome

The investigation confirmed that the claimant maintained a largely sedentary lifestyle, with limited physical activity and a reliance on government support. While some minor outdoor tasks were observed, these were infrequent and completed over extended periods. The claimant expressed ongoing pain and functional limitations but also demonstrated a willingness to explore part-time, sedentary employment options.

The team’s ability to balance discretion with thoroughness ensured that the client received a clear, unbiased, and actionable report. The structured methodology, attention to detail, and quality of documentation reflect our commitment to investigative excellence and client service.
