IPP Consulting was engaged to manage the comprehensive ICT design, integration, and system transition for the new Footscray Hospital, one of the largest healthcare infrastructure projects in Victoria.
Delivered through a Public Private Partnership between Plenary Health, the Victorian state government, and Western Health. The challenge was to ensure seamless transition and integration of all systems, including AV systems, from the old Footscray Hospital to the new state-of-the-art facility. The project aimed to provide a cutting-edge ICT infrastructure that would meet the modern demands of healthcare services while ensuring minimal disruption to operations and patient care during the transition.
Involvement
IPP was involved from the initial planning phase, preparing the concept design that incorporated the Master Plan and Feasibility Report (MPFR) requirements. This included identifying the project’s ICT and AV requirements, potential server room relocation, and developing multiple options for each work element. The ICT and AV team ensured that all networks, communications rooms, and AV systems were located within appropriate physical security environments. Specific services included:
- Design and documentation of the ICT infrastructure.
- Integration and documentation of AV systems for training rooms, meeting rooms, and patient areas, including MATV, reinforced sound systems, and various video projection systems.
- Relocation of existing ICT assets to the new facility.
- Design and documentation of site-wide pit and conduit infrastructure systems.
- Adherence to relevant security and healthcare compliance requirements.
Outcome
IPP Consulting delivered a robust and secure design that met the high standards and functionality required for the New Footscray Hospital project. The new facility now operates with enhanced technological capabilities, improved communication systems, robust data management, and state-of-the-art AV systems, significantly enhancing the overall efficiency and quality of healthcare services.
